PACKAGING MATERIAL FOR THE MOVE

The right packaging material is essential for a move. In addition to moving boxes, wrapping paper, packing tape and bubble wrap ensure that your belongings arrive safely at their new place of residence. Therefore, it pays to rely on the right packaging material.

PAPER PACKAGING: WRAPPING PAPER OR NEWSPAPER

There are special inserts for cartons in the specialist trade, with which you can safely pack glasses or plates, for example. Wrapping paper and especially newsprint are cheaper alternatives. Newsprint can easily be put back a few weeks before you start packing. Generously wrap around fragile items such as glasses and utensils and carefully place them in the moving boxes. Newsprint is also suitable as a filler in various boxes so that the content does not slip in it. For sensitive items, you should put better on paper instead of a newspaper because of the printing ink and prefer to resort to very fragile items on bubble wrap.

If you have commissioned a moving company with your move, you can usually also order there cartons and packaging material. Talk to your relocation consultant!

MAKE THE MOVE EASY WITH PROFESSIONAL MOVING HELPERS

Organize tools for transporting heavy items before moving. These are, for example, small trolleys consisting of a board and four rubber rollers underneath. This makes it easier to carry heavy pieces of furniture or stacked moving boxes and carry less – at least on flat surfaces within the home. As a rule, roller skates are not suitable for the road due to the small castors, so you can use a hand truck. This will transport heavy items from the front door to the moving van. Especially with large appliances such as washing machines or dryers that makes sense.

TROLLEYS, STRAPS AND PACKAGING MATERIAL

The aids and packaging material necessary for your move can be found at the hardware store or at specialized online retailers. Depending on the provider aids such as straps, trolleys or sack trucks can be partially borrowed. If you move with a moving company, these moving tools are usually included in the price.

WARDROBE BOXES: USEFUL ADDITION TO MOVING BOXES

In addition to traditional moving boxes, special wardrobe boxes are very handy when moving. They have a clothes rail in the upper part and are altogether about 59.05 inches high. You can hang your clothes directly from your closet in the box and immediately in the new apartment back. This saves a lot of work and the clothes do not crumble.

SECURE YOUR STUFF IN MOVING TRUCK

Be sure to remember the straps or ropes for packing material when you move. In this way, you secure the load in the moving truck or trailer safely and avoid slipping on the loading surface, which can cause transport damage. Moving blankets also help with loading so that furniture, large picture frames and bulky objects do not collide.
